UK government not transparent about Palantir contracts

Two digital rights groups, Privacy International and No Tech for Tyrants have said the UK government is not being transparent enough about contracts it has awarded to with US-based surveillance and data analytics company Palantir. The government has only responded to 4 out of 11 FOI requests that confirmed Palantir contracts and did not include all the requested details. “We often do not know what, if any, safeguards are in place to protect our data, and ensure that it is not misused,” they said.
