More than 2500 ransomware attacks in first half of 2024

The latest Ransomware Radar Report from Rapid7 Labs reveals that the first half of 2024 has seen significant changes in the ransomware landscape. The report indicates that over 2,570 ransomware attacks were initiated on organisations during this period, averaging 14 publicly claimed attacks per day. There has also been a 67% increase in the number of ransomware groups actively posting to their leak sites each month. Furthermore, medium-sized businesses (with turnover above $5 million in revenue) are increasingly becoming targets. Moreover, analysis of ransomware source codes suggests potential code sharing and reuse among threat actors.
