European Commission executive vice president Margrethe Vestager warned Apple on Friday against using privacy and security concerns to fend off the competition. This follows last years proposed rules (Digital Markets Act) that would require Apple to open up its App Store to enable users to download (side-load) apps from the internet or third-party app stores.
