Irish DPC defends order to block Facebook data transfers

The Irish Data Protection Commission has defended its provisional order to stop Facebook transferring user data to the US from its European offices in Ireland, by explaining to the Irish High Court how such decisions were not ordinarily subject to court oversight. earlier this weekThe Irish Times reported how Facebook could face devastating consequences if the Irish DPC's decision on data transfers is allowed to stand.
