News Group Newspapers denied preliminary trial in phone hacking case

The Duke of Sussex has been spared a major delay after London’s High Court dismissed an application by the publisher of the Sun newspaper, News Group Newspapers (NGN), for a preliminary trial, which means the trial will proceed as planned. NGN is being sued by 42 figures over allegations of phone hacking, among other unlawful activities and invasion of privacy. A trial, which may include Harry’s case, is due to begin in January next year.
