Government considering propaganda campaign on 1-2-1 encryption

According to revelations in Rolling Stone magazine, and now also reported in The Guardian, reveal that the UK government is preparing to launch a manipulative ad campaign against encrypted communications. The Home Office has engaged the services of M&C Saatchi advertising agency to launch a publicity attack on end-to-end encryption. In documents seen by Rolling Stone, activities under consideration include putting a child in a glass box, with an adult looking at the child as the glass fades to black. Several sources have verified the campaign is planned to start this month. The objective is to sway public opinion against Facebook’s decision to encrypt its Messenger app.
