Following an investigation, the EU Ombudsman Emily O'Reilly has determined the European Commission's monitoring of the enforcement action by the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) involving Big Tech companies is "appropriate." However, O'Reilly said, without regular case overviews, there would be "serious doubts as to the adequacy of the information that the European Commission relies on." She also recommended the Commission publish detailed accounts of the overviews in its next report on the application of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
