Scottish Government responds over FOI report

The Scottish Government has announced it will address the points raised by the Scottish Information Commissioner's report, following an investigation into how the Scottish Government handles Freedom of Information requests.

The report identified several areas that require urgent attention:

  • Widespread failures to comply with records management requirements while responding to FOI requests
  • A failure to track, monitor and report on FOI performance
  • Limited compliance with procedures to prevent delays in FOI responses.

The Scottish Information Commissioner gave an interview to The Scotsman in April relating to the delays in FOI Appeals.
