Information Commissioner in favour of algorithmic transparency

In an interview with Sky News, Information Commissioner John Edwards emphasised the importance of making sure algorithms that impact people's lives can be properly scrutinised. Mr Edwads said he is "very much in favour of algorithmic transparency." Separately, sources in Westminster, including parliamentarians and civil servants, have told Sky News that they see growing tensions in Whitehall about the future direction of the UK's data protection regime, Data: a new direction.
