Swedish Administrative Court reduces Spotify GDPR fine to €3.5m

On Friday, 28 June 2024, the Administrative Court in Sweden agreed with the Swedish data protection authority (IMY) that Spotify AB should be fined for a violation of the right of access under Article 15 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Court, however, reduced the fine amount from €5 million (SEK58 million) issued in June 2023 to €3.5 million (SEK40 million) after concluding that the violation was not as severe and extensive as IMY assessed.
