GDPR enforcement has a way to go to catch big tech

A study from Beuc, a European consumer protection group reflects on the obstacles to effective enforcement of the GDPR, which makes for difficult reading. While tech giants make billions in advertising revenue, the Irish DPC is yet to issue any cross-border GDPR decisions. Read the full report. Elsewhere, Infosecurity Magazine reports that GDPR fines are less of a concern to the public sector than reputational damage. Furthermore, reporting from the Westminster Events conference, the GDPR is a success, but the public needs consider consent more.
