Irish DPC have been sued over failure to act on Google data breach case

The High Court in Ireland has agreed to hear a case against the Irish Data Protection Commission over its failure to investigate a complaint about Google and IAB Europe's processing of personal data. The complaint focuses on the high-velocity trading of personal data used to serve online ads and the lack of attention from the ad tech industry to implement appropriate security measures. The case has been brought by Dr Johnny Ryan, of the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, regarding what he claims is "the largest data breach ever."
