AWS-hosted AI tool for the MoD carries risk of data breach

A UK government assessment of an artificial intelligence (AI) tool being used to target recruitment improvements for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) risks the identification of defence personnel. 

The Textio system, which enhances job adverts to attract more diverse candidates, uses personal data, including names, roles, and emails of military personnel hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) on servers in the US. While the risk is considered "lowand the MoD claims robust safeguards are in place, the concern is part of broader risks acknowledged regarding AI use in the public sector.
