Biometrics commissioner confirms he does not support use of facial recognition by Met Police

The UK's biometrics commissioner, Paul Wiles, disputes claims made by the Met Police that he has given his support over the use of live facial recognition technology. In a statement, Paul reiterated his opinion that "we need proper governance of new biometric technologies such as LFR through legislation."
