Children’s safety groups urge age verification on adult websites

Children’s safety groups are urging the ICO to use powers under the Children’s Code to introduce age verification for publicly accessible adult websites. The ICO has said the code is not intended to impose such measures. However, the Secretary of the Children’s Charities’ Coalition on Internet Safety, John Carr, said the coalition is prepared to pursue legal action should the regulator fail to act.
