Concerns raised over security of online tory leadership vote

Cybersecurity experts have warned against the Conservative party using online voting to pick its next leader and prime minister, as the technology is not proven. Applied security professor Peter Ryan at the University of Luxembourg is among those raining their concerns: "We do not have the technology to conduct voting securely online and so it should not be deployed for high-stakes elections." 

At the beginning of August, the delivery of ballot papers was delayed over security concerns raised by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).
