OpenAI declares its voice cloning tool too dangerous for general release

In a blog article, OpenAI confirmed the company is not releasing its new "Voice Engine" tool that can create a convincing clone of anyone's voice using just 15 seconds of recorded audio because of the risks it poses for spreading misinformation during global elections.
