Publication of Lord Mountbatten’s diaries blocked by Cabinet Office

A writer has spent over £250,000 in an ongoing legal battle with the  University of Southampton and Cabinet Office to allow the public to view the diaries and letters of Lord and Lady Mountbatten. Despite freedom of information requests and an order by the ICO for the material to be released the university refuses to release a number of papers under explicit instructions by the Government.
