Mark Zuckerberg is being sued by Washington DC's attorney general for his alleged role in the Cambridge Analytica scandal that led to harvesting personal data belonging to 87 million Americans during the 2016 election

The lawsuit, filed by the District of Columbia attorney general, Karl Racine, alleges Mark Zuckerberg was a direct participant in the scandal. He claims Mr Zuckerberg was involved in policy decision-making allowing Cambridge Analytica to collect US voter's data without their knowledge, and helping Donald Trump's election campaign. Karl Racine said, "this unprecedented security breach exposed tens of millions of Americans' personal information, and Mr Zuckerberg's policies enabled a multi-year effort to mislead users about the extent of Facebook's wrongful conduct."
