X circumvents court order in Brazil via Cloudflare

Social media platform X is accessible in Brazil despite a block ordered by the country's supreme court. The platform updated its communications network using cloud services provided by Cloudflare, allowing Brazilian users to access X without a virtual private network. The Brazilian Association of Internet and Telecommunications Providers (Abrint) stated that the number of Brazilians accessing X is unknown. Basilio Perez, a board member at Abrint, suggested that the change was likely intentional, and blocking X again could be difficult due to the technical change and the widespread use of Cloudflare. Brazil's national telecommunications agency, Anatel, is notifying content delivery network providers and telecom companies to block access to X in the country again. Elon Musk responded to the development in a post on X, expressing his welcome surprise at the turn of events.

Responding to the development, Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes described the move as a deliberate attempt “to circumvent the court’s blocking order”. However, in a further development, Baron's reports that the Supreme Court has ordered X to suspend access to the social network or face a daily fine of over $900,000.
