The Department of Justice in Ireland has warned of damage to the country's global standing if it doesn't ensure the Data Protection Commission doesn't receive an additional €5.4 million in its operating budget to increase headcount by 70 staff. In a pre-budget submission, a further 2.2 million in funding is also recommended, which includes €1 million for legal fees.
