WhatsApp challenges €225 million DPC fine

WhatsApp has launched an appeal in the Irish High Court challenging the €225 million fine issued by the Data Protection Commission earlier this month. The fine was issued after the DPC found WhatsApp failed to comply with its transparency obligations under the GDPR in relation to its data-sharing practices. The news comes after it was revealed WhatsApp anticipated a larger fine from the DPC.
