Ahead of his presentation at the IAPP Global Privacy Summit, Information Commissioner John Edwards has set out his objective to get the Age Appropriate Design Code to be adopted as a global standard. Speaking to The Telegraph and in a blog article, Mr Edwards said it is "only through other countries toughening their laws that British children would be protected when they used online services based outside the UK." Mr Edwrads cited the State of California, which is already introducing the California Age-Appropriate Design Code Act, along with similar measures being brought in by the Netherlands, Ireland, Sweden, Canada and Australia.
