India considers time-limited startup exemption in data protection bill

The Indian Parliament is considering a potential exemption for early-stage startup companies in its proposed Digital Personal Data Protection Bill. A source within the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said that the exemption might be time-limited in order to allow startups to "develop their solution" without compliance burdens.
