AI Safety Institute announces research into AI safety cases

The UK AI Safety Institute (AISI) has announced plans to collaborate on research projects for developing safety cases for advanced artificial intelligence (AI) models, focusing on risks related to loss of control. These efforts will involve partnerships with AI labs and research organisations to build foundational knowledge for future safety cases. AISI acknowledged the challenges of developing safety cases for frontier AI and stressed the importance of starting work on safety case sketches despite the uncertainties.
