UK outlines plans for data adequacy EU negotiations

The UK government has published its position on post-Brexit negotiations with the EU, including its stance on data adequacy. The government is seeking to have an "independent policy on data protection" following the transition period. After which, the free flow of data between the UK and EU member states will continue as the UK negotiates a potential adequacy decision (page 29), which will be separate from the trade deal negotiations.
