The US government has announced the launch of the International Network of AI Safety Institutes. The US will serve as the inaugural chair, with members including the UK, EU, Australia, Canada, France, Japan, Kenya, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore. According to the press release, the network aims to "drive alignment on and build the scientific basis for safe, secure, and trustworthy AI innovation around the world."
In separate news, the EU & Singapore reached an agreement to strengthen their partnership on AI safety under a new administrative arrangement.
