Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework comes into effect

On Monday, 16 September 2024, the US Department of Commerce announced that the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework (Swiss DPF) entered into force on 15 September for certified companies. 

The development follows amendments to the Ordinance on the Federal Act on Data Protection, which came into effect on 15 September adding US organisations certified under the Swiss DPF as organisations that provide an adequate level of protection.
