A growing international backlash against the second Donald Trump administration in Europe is leading to a reassessment of over-reliance on US cloud services. Several European companies and governments are showing signs that they may be looking to move away from cloud services provided by the three leading US cloud providers: Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Concerns are focused on potential privacy and data access risks under the Trump administration. There is a sense that Europe needs to reduce dependence on US tech companies amid fears that these services could be "weaponised" against European interests.
