How the Amazon fine highlights the GDPR's enforcement potential

Amazon's €746m million fine has finally showcased the potential enforcement power of the EU GDPR. "With so many large cases piling up in front of regulators, we were really waiting for one of those cases to be resolved to show that the GDPR basically has teeth," Access Now Global Data Protection Lead Estelle Massé said. Despite the big fine, Massé and NOYB Program Director Romain Robert said GDPR enforcement can be improved by placing time limits on investigations.
